Eye Surgery

Glaucoma Therapy

Glaucoma is usually caused by a build-up of fluid in the eye which causes damage to the optic nerve.

Chronic glaucoma often goes undetected because people do not have regular eye checks. They then begin to notice changes in vision often starting with loss of peripheral vision. If this is left untreated it can lead to total loss of vision and blindness.

Acute glaucoma happens quickly and the patient will normally complain of a red painful eye and may experience headaches, blurred vision, rainbow coloured haloes around lights, nausea and vomiting.
