Mr Nyamekye qualified from the University of Bristol Medical School in 1988 with distinction in Anatomy. He subsequently trained in General Surgery at Sheffield Hospitals, gaining the diplomat of the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 1992. Following this, Mr Nyamekye completed a higher degree in Vascular research at University College London, gaining the award of Doctor of Medicine from the University of Bristol in 1995.

Mr Nyamekye continued his general surgical training with a bias to vascular surgery (then a subspecialty of general surgery) before specialising exclusively in Vascular Surgery.

Mr Nyamekye is a recognised expert in the endovenous management of varicose vein disease. He has made national and international presentations, written peer-reviewed papers and authored reviews and book chapters on venous disease. He instructs on endovenous techniques on national courses and proctors colleagues in these techniques.
