Jeff Tong

Consultant Anaesthetist

Dr Tong qualified from the University of Birmingham Medical School in 1991 and following a period in primary care, transferred to anaesthesia in 1995. In 1998 he became a Fellow of the Royal College of Anaesthetists and subsequently worked on Faculty at the University of Michigan Medical Centre in the USA.

In 2002 he was appointed as a Consultant Anaesthetist in the United Kingdom and academically remains an Honorary Senior Lecturer at Birmingham Medical School. Dr Tong was awarded the Pask Certificate of Honour in 2010 by the Association of Anaesthetists of Great Britain and Ireland, in recognition of distinguished services to anaesthesia.

Dr Tong is an Honorary Consultant Anaesthetist at the University Hospital Birmingham, new Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
