New anaesthethic approach 'the way forward' for surgical cosmetic procedures
Our very own Mr Hirosh Nishikawa was recently interviewed for an article in The Independent.
He talks about the pioneering anaesthetic technique of local anaesthesia with sedation; a method which has been developed by Mr Nishikawa, and his colleague Mr Fazel Fatah, here at The Westbourne Centre. This revolutionary technique allows a variety of surgical procedures to be carried out with quicker recovery time and fewer side effects.
"With a colleague, Mr Nishikawa has pioneered the use of “local anaesthetic with sedation” for many cosmetic procedures at The Westbourne Centre. This is given under the care of an anaesthetist and the patient remains oblivious to the surgery — but recovery time is much quicker, and there are no post-op sore throats or feelings of nausea to contend with. As a result, Mr Nishikawa believes that it is the way forward, not just for cosmetic procedures, but for surgical healthcare delivery generally."
