Support our 'Cancer Warriors' on their fundraising mission
In the last 12 months cancer has hit us 3 times here at The Westbourne Centre.
Two members of staff are winning their fight against breast cancer, but sadly, another has lost a close family member earlier this year to a brain tumour.
The awesome team at The Westbourne Centre will be showing their support by raising money for two charities close to our ‘Cancer Warriors’ hearts; Marie Curie and Against Breast Cancer.
The staff will work together to walk a combined distance of 10,000 miles over 10 weeks (from Monday 26 March to Monday 11 June). Each staff member has been issued a pedometer and everyone’s steps will count towards the target.
Sue and Lynda have nominated Against Breast Cancer, who fund pioneering research into new treatments for breast cancer, tools for earlier diagnosis and advice to reduce the risk of recurrence and secondary spread. Working with expert scientists they want to increase the survival rates of all breast cancer patients and ultimately, discover a vaccine against breast cancer.
Marie Curie give care and support to people living with any terminal illness and their families, bringing light in the darkest hours. Leisha has chosen this charity in loving memory of her Dad, Tim, who was supported by Marie Curie in his final weeks.
