Mr Mahmood is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon in one of the leading major trauma units in the UK. His specialist interests include major orthopaedic trauma, sports and tendon injuries, limb lengthening and post trauma reconstruction. He is the Lead for Trauma Research for University Hospitals Birmingham. His research interests include Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) and Ortho-biologics and their use in musculoskeletal conditions and wound healing.

Full Biography
Mr Mahmood completed his fellowship in Orthopaedic Trauma Surgery and is the Lead in Trauma Research for University Hospitals Birmingham.
Mr Mahmood entered the field of regenerative medicine in 2010 while working with expert clinicians with an established background in the use of PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) in chronic tendon and inflammatory conditions.
He actively trains other clinicians on the use of PRP and stem cells in orthopaedic and broader practice and is regularly invited to speak at National and International conferences in the area of Ortho-biologics.
At The Westbourne Centre, Mr Mahmood specialises in helping patients to gain long-term relief from chronic joint conditions with the use of orthobiological materials (e.g. PRP) as an alternative to complex and invasive surgery.
