Common treatment areas include:
- Frown/Furrow Line (between the eyes)
- Temples
- Cheeks
- Tear troughs (under the eyes)
- Nasolabial folds (creases from the nose to mouth)
- Around the mouth (corners of the mouth, or smokers lines around the lips)
- Lips
- Chin
The filler products used at The Westbourne Centre are hyaluronic acid based. As hyaluronic acid is a natural substance present in the skin, using fillers made of the same compound keeps the results natural. As we age, the skin produces less hyaluronic acid which leads to loss of volume and moisture, which becomes visible on the face. The fillers work by replenishing the tissues with the hyaluronic acid they are lacking in turn helping you achieve a more youthful appearance.
It is becoming increasingly popular for younger patients, who have not started the ageing process, to pursue non-surgical routes to achieve their desired look. Filler treatments to augment facial features such as the lips, cheeks and chin help to restore balance and bring harmony to the face.
The Westbourne Centre offers a variety of different types of hyaluronic acid fillers so that the correct product can be used to develop the best results. The products are clear gel based fillers and are usually combined with a local anaesthetic to offer minimal discomfort. The gels blend well with the normal tissue to give soft and natural results.
The benefits of fillers are that the results are immediately visible. There may be some temporary swelling after the treatment which usually subsides within 48 hours. The effects of fillers can last between 6-12 months and it is usual to require additional treatments to further develop or maintain the effect.
